Call to Worship:…………………………………………Robin C.
Blessed be the name of God
    from this time on and forevermore.
From the rising of the sun to its setting
    the name of God is to be praised.

It is good to give thanks to God,
    to sing praises to your name, O Most High;
To declare your steadfast love in the morning,
    and your faithfulness at night. (from Psalms 113 and 92)

Opening Prayer:………………………………………Robin C.
Holy God,
We thank you, for you are our God, and God of our fathers and mothers forever.  You are the Refuge of our life, the Shield of our help.  From generation to generation may we thank you and count your praises-evening, morning, and noon-for our lives which are committed into your hand, for our souls which are entrusted to you, for your miracles which are with us every day, for your wonders and goodness at all times.  O Good One, your compassion does not fail.  O Merciful One, your lovingkindness never ceases.  Forever we hope in you.  Amen.

God, my refuge
You who live in the shelter of the Most High,who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the snare of the hunter and from the deadly pestilence; he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and defense.
You will not fear the terror of the night or the arrow that flies by day or the pestilence that stalks in darkness or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
Those who love me, I will deliver; I will protect those who know my name. When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble; I will rescue them and honor them. With long life I will satisfy them and show them my salvation.

Closing Hymn:….“If It Had Not Been for the Lord #2053 TFWS
Words: Margaret P. Douroux  Music: Margaret P. Douroux
© 1980 Margaret P. Douroux

If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.
If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.

He kept my enemies away;
he let the sun shine through a cloudy day.
He rocked me in the cradle of his arm
when he knew I had been battered and scorned,
So…

If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.
If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.

He never left me all alone;
he gave me peace and joy I’d never known.
He answered when I knelt to really pray,
and in vict’ry the Lord brought me his way,
So…

If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.
If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.
