Spiritual

Coming of the Light:…………………………………….

Greeting:………………….……………Pastor Steven

Opening Prayer: ………….…….……….…..Ian D.
Gracious God, we gather today like the psalmist declaring
that we believe that we have walked in integrity.  We also
believe that we have walked in faithfulness, avoided
hypocrites, and shunned the company of evildoers.  We
declare to you all of the good things that we remember
doing and saying and believing all week.  But, just in case
our level of integrity is not the same as yours, we, like
the psalmist, say, “Prove us.” Place your steadfast love
before us again and again and again until we walk in faithfulness to you.  Allow us to sit in your presence, until
we soak up your character and reflect your glory to the
world.  Prove us. Try us. Test our hearts and minds until
our faith is able to stand surefooted on solid ground.  Then, prove us again and again until you are satisfied.  Amen

Opening Hymns:“We Are Called”,  2172 TFWS
 Words: David Hass  Music: David Haas

1. “Come! Live in the light!
Shine with joy and the love of the Lord!
We are called to be light for the kingdom,
to live in the freedom of the city of God!

We are called to act with justice,
we are called to love tenderly,
we are called to serve one another,
to walk humbly with God!

2. Come! Open your heart!
Show your mercy to all those in fear!
We are called to be hope for the hopeless
so all hatred and blindness will be no more!

We are called to act with justice,
we are called to love tenderly,
we are called to serve one another,
to walk humbly with God!

3. Sing! Sing a new song!
Sing of that great day when all will be one!
God will reign, and we’ll walk with each other as
Sisters and brothers united in love!

We are called to act with justice,
We are called to love tenderly,
We are called to serve one another,
To walk humble with God!

If It Had Not Been for the Lord #2053 TFWS

If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.
If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.

He kept my enemies away;
he let the sun shine through a cloudy day.
He rocked me in the cradle of his arm
when he knew I had been battered and scorned,
So…

If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.
If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.

He never left me all alone;
he gave me peace and joy I’d never known.
He answered when I knelt to really pray,
and in vict’ry the Lord brought me his way,
So…

If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.
If It had not been for the Lord on my side;
tell me where would I be, where would I be.

Scripture:…………………Mark 4:35-41……………..Ian D.
On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.”  And leaving the crowd behind, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. Other boats were with him.  A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped.  But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”

He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?”   And they were filled with great awe and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

Change my heart, O God, make it ever true.
Change my heart, O God, may I be like you.

You are the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me, this is what I pray.

Change my heart, O God, make it ever true.
Change my heart, O God, may I be like you.

You are the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me, this is what I pray.

Change my heart, O God, make it ever true.
Change my heart, O God, may I be like you.

Closing Hymn:.“I’ll Fly Away #2282 TFWS
1.Some glad morning when this life is o’er,
I’ll fly away; to a home on God’s celestial shore,
I’ll fly away.

Refrain
I’ll fly away, O glory, I’ll fly away.  When I die,
hallelujah, by and by, I’ll fly away.

2.When the shadows of this life have gone,
I’ll fly away; like a bird from prison bars has flown,
I’ll fly away.

Refrain
I’ll fly away, O glory, I’ll fly away.  When I die,
hallelujah, by and by, I’ll fly away.

3.Just a few more weary days and then,
I’ll fly away; to a land where joys shall never end,
I’ll fly away.

Refrain
I’ll fly away, O glory, I’ll fly away.  When I die,
hallelujah, by and by, I’ll fly away.
