Prelude……“The Majesty and Glory of Your Name”…Greg D.
Words and Music: M. Smith and D. Smith © 1982 Meadowgreen Music Co.
Coming of the Light:………………………………………..Eli A.
Greetings:…………………………………………….Pastor Steven
Opening Prayer:……………………….……..…Melanie B.
Days pass and the years vanish, and we walk sightless among miracles.
Lord, fill our eyes with seeing and our minds with knowing;
Let there be moments when your presence, like lightning, illumines the darkness in which we walk.
Help us to see, wherever we gaze, that the bush burns unconsumed.
And we, clay touched by God, will reach out for holiness, and exclaim in wonder:
How filled with awe is this place, and we did not know it:
“Blessed is the Eternal One, the holy God.” Amen
Opening Hymns:…“Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty” #64 UMH
Words: Regional Heber, 1826 Music: John B. Dykes, 1861
1.Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!
2.Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
Which wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.
3.Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see,
only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
perfect in power, in love and purity.
4.Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity.
“God of Grace and God of Glory” #577 UMH
Words: Harry Emerson Frosdick, 1930
Music: John Hughes, 1907
1.God of grace and God of glory, on thy people
pour thy power; crown thine ancient church’s story
bring her bud to glorious flower. Grant us wisdom,
grant of courage, for the facing of this hour
for the facing of this hour.
2.Lo! The hosts of evil round us scorn thy Christ,
assail his ways! Fears and doubts too long have bound
us, free our hearts to work and praise. Grant us wisdom,
grant us courage, for the living of these days,
for the living of these days.
3.Cure thy children’s warring madness, bend our pride
to thy control; shame our wanton, selfish gladness,
rich in things and poor in soul. Grant us wisdom,
grant us courage, lest we miss thy kingdom’s goal,
lest we miss thy kingdom’s goal.
4.Save us from weak resignation to the evils we
deplore; let the search for thy salvation be our glory
evermore. Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, serving
thee whom we adore, serving thee whom we adore.

Old Testament Lesson:…….…..Exodus 3:1-15…….Melanie B.
Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian; he led his flock beyond the wilderness, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of a bush; he looked, and the bush was blazing, yet it was not consumed.
Then Moses said, “I must turn aside and look at this great sight, and see why the bush is not burned up.” When the LORD saw that he had turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”
Then he said, “Come no closer! Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”
He said further, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.
Then the LORD said, “I have observed the misery of my people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry on account of their taskmasters. Indeed, I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them from the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the country of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
The cry of the Israelites has now come to me; I have also seen how the Egyptians oppress them. So come, I will send you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”
He said, “I will be with you; and this shall be the sign for you that it is I who sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God on this mountain.” But Moses said to God, “If I come to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?”
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” He said further, “Thus you shall say to the Israelites, ‘I AM has sent me to you.'” God also said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you’: This is my name forever, and this my title for all generations.

standing in his presence on holy ground.

standing in his presence on holy ground.

road you travel always lead you home.
May you run and not be weary.
