Opening Hymns:…“Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us” #381 UMH
Words: Attr. to Dorothy A. Thrupp, 1836
Music: William B. Bradbury, 1859
1. Savior, like a shepherd lead us, much we need thy
tender care; in thy pleasant pastures feed us, for our
use thy folds prepare. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!
Thou hast bought us, thine we are. Blessed Jesus!
blessed Jesus! Thou hast bought us, thine we are.
2. We are thine, thou dost befriend us, be the guardian
of our way; keep thy flock, from sin defend us, seek
us when we go astray. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!
Hear, O hear us when we pray. Blessed Jesus, blessed
Jesus! Hear, O hear us when we pray.
3. Thou hast promised to receive us, poor and sinful
though we be; thou hast mercy to relieve us, grace to
Cleanse and power to free. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!
We will early turn to thee. Blessed Jesus, blessed
Jesus! We will early turn to thee.
4. Early let us seek thy favor, early let us do thy will;
blessed Lord and only Savior, with thy love our bosoms
fill. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast loved us,
love us still. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast
loved us, love us still.
“His Name Is Wonderful” #174 UMH
Words: Audrey Mieir, 1959 Music: Audrey Mieir, 1959

His name is wonderful, his name is wonderful,
his name is wonderful, Jesus, my Lord. He is the
mighty king, Master of everything; his name is
wonderful, Jesus, my Lord.
He’s the great Shepherd, the Rock of all ages,
almighty God is he; bow down before him, love
and adore him, his name is wonderful, Jesus
my Lord.
Psalter: Psalm 23 UMH #754……………….Allyssa M.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
The Lord makes me lie down in green pastures;
leads me beside still waters; restores my life,
leads me in right paths for the sake of the Lord’s name.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil;
for you are with me; your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord as long as I live.

Gentle Shepherd, come and lead us, for we need you to
help us find our way. Gentle Shepherd, come and feed
us, for we need your strength from day to day. There’s
no other we can turn to who can help us face another
day; gentle Shepherd, come and lead us, for we
need you to help us find our way.
Gospel Lesson:……….“John 10:1-10”…………..Allyssa M.
Very truly, I tell you, anyone who does not enter the sheepfold by the gate but climbs in by another way is a thief and a bandit.
The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. They will not follow a stranger, but they will run from him because they do not know the voice of strangers.”
Jesus used this figure of speech with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them. So again Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.
All who came before me are thieves and bandits; but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
