Prelude “O God Beyond All Praising” Words by Michael Perry, Music by Gustav Holst, Words © 1982, 1987 Jubilate Hymns……………………………………………….Greg D.
Coming of the Light:………………………………….Evan G.
Greetings……………………….……………Pastor Steven
Opening Prayer: …………….…………………Beverly B.
We meet in different buildings; in different towns.
We speak different languages and sing different hymns.
We wear different clothing and have different gifts and talents.
Yet, as we gather together for worship on Sundays,
we become one body, one family in Christ.
We join together with God as the Kingdom of God comes
and as God’s will is done.
Let us join with all our brothers and sisters in worship
and true communion with God this day. Amen
Opening Hymns:….“Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing” #400 UMH
Words: Robert Robinson, 1758, Music: Wyeth’s Repository of
Sacred Music, Part Second, 1853
1.Come, thous Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to
sing thy grace; streams of mercy, never ceasing,
call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious
sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount!
I’m fixed upon it, mount of thy redeeming love.
2.Here I raise mine Ebenezer; hither by thy help I’m come;
and I hope, by thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at
home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from
the fold of God; he, to rescue me from danger, interposed
his precious blood.
3.O to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained
to be! Let thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering
heart to thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to
leave the God I love; here’s my heart, O take and seal
it, seal it for thy courts above.
“Love Lifted Me” #3101 W&S
Words: James Rowe Music: Howard E. Smith
1. I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore,
very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more;
but the Master of the sea heard my despairing cry,
from the waters lifted me; now safe am I.
Love lifted even me! Love lifted even me!
When nothing else could help. Love lifted me.
Love lifted even me! Love lifted even me!
When nothing else could help. Love lifted me.
2. Souls in danger, look above, Jesus completely saves;
he will lift you by his love out of the angry waves.
He’s the Master of the sea, billows his will obey;
he your Savior wants to be — be saved today.
Love lifted even me! Love lifted even me!
When nothing else could help. Love lifted me.
Love lifted even me! Love lifted even me!
When nothing else could help. Love lifted me.”

Hymn of Preparation:..“Gentle Shepherd” #3096 W&S
Words: Gloria Gaither Music: William J. Gaither © 1974
William J. Gaither, Inc.
Gentle Shepherd, come and lead us, for we need you to
help us find our way. Gentle Shepherd, come and feed
us, for we need your strength from day to day. There’s
no other we can turn to who can help us face another
day; gentle Shepherd, come and lead us, for we need
you to help us find our way.
Gospel Lesson: ……..…Luke 15:1-10………..Beverly B.
Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near to listen to him. And the Pharisees and the scribes were grumbling and saying, “This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
So he told them this parable:
“Which one of you, having a hundred sheep and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it? When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders and rejoices. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’
Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
“Or what woman having ten silver coins, if she loses one of them, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’
Just so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Closing Hymn:..“Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us” #381 UMH
Words: Attr. to Dorothy A. Thrupp, 1836
Music: William B. Bradbury, 1859
1.Savior, like a shepherd lead us, much we need thy
tender care; in thy pleasant pastures feed us, for our
use thy folds prepare. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!
Thou hast bought us, thine we are. Blessed Jesus!
blessed Jesus! Thou hast bought us, thine we are.
2.We are thine, thou dost befriend us, be the guardian
of our way; keep thy flock, from sin defend us, seek
us when we go astray. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!
Hear, O hear us when we pray. Blessed Jesus, blessed
Jesus! Hear, O hear us when we pray.
3.Thou hast promised to receive us, poor and sinful
though we be; thou hast mercy to relieve us, grace to
Cleanse and power to free. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!
We will early turn to thee. Blessed Jesus, blessed
Jesus! We will early turn to thee.
4.Early let us seek thy favor, early let us do thy will;
blessed Lord and only Savior, with thy love our bosoms
fill. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast loved us,
love us still. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast
loved us, love us still.
