Closing Hymn: “He Lives” #310 UMH Words: Alfred H. Ackley, 1933 Music: Alfred H. Ackley, 1933
1.I serve a risen Savior, he’s in the world today; I know that he is living, whatever foes may say. I see his hand of mercy, I hear his voice of cheer, and just the time I need him, he’s always near.
Refrain He lives, he lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way. He lives, he lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know he lives? He lives within my heart.
2.In all the world around me I see his loving care, and though my heart grows weary, I never will despair. I know that he is leading through all the stormy blast; the day of his appearing will come at last.
3.Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing. eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King! The hope of all who seek him, the help of all who find; none other is so loving, so good and kind.
Dismissal with Blessing………………..…Pastor Juan
Postlude: “Ode To Joy”, by L. Beethoven…..Gregory D.
CONFESSION & PARDON Pastor Juan: Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
All pray in silence.
Pastor Juan: Hear the good news: Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God’s love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! All: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! All: Glory to God. Amen.
THE PEACE Let us offer one another signs of reconciliation and love. All, including the pastor, exchange signs and words of God’s peace by crossing hands, wave to one another due to social distancing guidelines.
Pastor Juan: The Lord be with you. All: And also with you. Pastor Juan:Lift up your hearts. The pastor may lift hands and keep them raised. All: We lift them up to the Lord. Pastor Juan: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. All: It is right to give our thanks and praise. Pastor Juan: And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
All: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
Pastor Juan: In union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.
All: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. Pastor Juan: All honor and glory is yours, almighty Father (God ), now and forever. All: Amen.
THE LORD’S PRAYER* Pastor Juan: And now, with the confidence of children of God, let us pray:
All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
