Prelude: “For the Beauty of the Earth”, by C. Kocher, Public Domain…………………….Gregory Dixon & AFUMC Handbell Choir
Greetings…………………………………………Pastor Juan
Opening Prayer……………………………………..……….Chad Volk
Opening Hymn: “In The Cross of Christ I Glory” #295 United Methodist Hymnal
Words: John Bowring, 1825 Music: Ithamar Conkey, 1849
1.In the cross of Christ I glory, towering
o’er the wrecks of time; all the light of
sacred story gathers round its head sublime.
2. When the woes of life o’er take me, hopes
deceive, and fears annoy, never shall the
cross forsake me. Lo! It glows with peace and joy.
3. When the sun of bliss is beaming light and
love upon my way, from the cross the
radiance streaming adds more luster to the day.
4. Bane and blessing, pain and pleasure, by the
cross are sanctified; peace is there that
knows no measure, joys that through all time abide.
5. In the cross of Christ I glory, towering
o’er the wrecks of time; all the light of
sacred story gathers round its head sublime.
Psalms Reading: Psalm 25:1-10……………Chad Volk
Hymn of Preparation: “God Made A Rainbow” (To the tune of “Jesus Loves Me”)
When a rainbow’s in the sky
Then we know it’s dry outside
A rainbow tells us the storm is through
The sky above turns from gray to blue
God made a rainbow
God made a rainbow
God made a rainbow
And put it over the ark
Old Testament Reading: Genesis 9:8-17…….Chad Volk

Please comment with your prayer concerns and especially offer up those things that cause your soul to be in a place of deep lament this day.
After each prayer read:
Leader: Lord in your mercy.
All: Hear our prayers.

1. Lord, I am not mine, but yours alone.
Let your will be done and not my own.
Put me where you will, and let me serve;
In everything I do, let me endure.
Refrain
This is my prayer, Lord, to you. My promise and my
vow, strong and true. And the covenant I make on earth,
let it be filled in heaven
Amen.
2. Father, Son and Spirit hear my cry, forever I am
yours and you are mine. Father, Son and
Spirit hear my cry, forever I am
yours and you are mine.
Refrain
This is my prayer, Lord, to you. My promise and my
vow, strong and true. And the covenant I make
on earth, let it be fulfilled in heaven.
Amen.
Bridge
Let me be employed for you, laid aside
for you, lifted high for you or brought low.
Let me have all things or nothing.
1. Lord, I am not mine, but yours alone. Let your will be
Done and not my own. Put me where you
will, and let me serve; in everything I
do, let me endure.
Refrain
This is my prayer, Lord, to you. My promise and my
vow, strong and true. And the covenant I make
on earth, let it be fulfilled in heaven.
Amen.
