God of all compassion, your breath alone brings life to weary souls. Pour out your Spirit upon us, that we may face all things with faith in the One who calls us to live and love abundantly. AMEN.

Opening Hymn:      Leaning on the Everlasting Arms       #133-R

“1. What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
leaning on the everlasting arms.

Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

“2. O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path grows from day to day,
leaning on the everlasting arms.

Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

“3. What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
leaning on the everlasting arms.

Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.”

Hymn of Preparation: Softly and Tenderly #348-R

1. “Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
calling for you and for me;
see, on the portals he’s waiting and watching,
watching for you and for me.

Come home (come home), come home (come home),
you who are weary, come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!

2. “Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not his mercies,
mercies for you and for me?

Come home (come home), come home (come home),
you who are weary, come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!

3. “Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
passing from you and from me;
shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
coming for you and for me.

Come home (come home), come home (come home),
you who are weary, come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!

4. “O for the wonderful love he has promised,
promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon,
pardon for you and for me.

Come home (come home), come home (come home);
you who are weary, come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!”

Offertory:  Eternal Father, Strong to Save by William Whiting
Doxology #95-R

Prayer after receiving……………………………….Pastor Juan

God of wisdom and all good gifts: We bring our tithes and offerings to your altar, remembering that, like Abraham, you have blessed us to be a blessing to others. Remind us this morning that the gift of freedom that comes to Christ is also a gift not to be kept but to be shared. Even as the world asserts that freedom is a ticket to “go our own way,” you made us free to be part of Christ’s body in the world, connected and interdependent. May the way we live and the way we give reflect that kind of freedom. In Christ’s blessed name, we pray. Amen.
(Galatians 5:1, 13-26)

Closing Hymn:    Oh God, Our Help in Ages Past             #117-R

“1. O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
our shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal home!

2. Under the shadow of thy throne,
still may we dwell secure;
sufficient is thine arm along,
and our defense is sure.

3. Before the hills in order stood,
or earth received her frame,
from everlasting, thou art God,
to endless years the same.

4. A thousand ages, in thy sight,
are like an evening gone;
short as the watch that ends the night,
before the rising sun.

5. Time, like an ever rolling stream,
bears all who breathe away;
they fly forgotten, as a dream
dies at the opening day.

6. O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come;
be thou our guide while life shall last,
And our eternal home.”

Dismissal with blessing……………………….Pastor Juan

Gracious God, thank You for inviting us to take Your yoke upon us so may walk alongside You in this journey called life. Help us so that the heaviness of the world’s yoke doesn’t break us down. In Your lovingkindness, You bring us to the point of humbleness where we can encounter Your rest. Teach us Your ways so may learn the way of Your heavenly kingdom on earth. Bind us together, Lord, and lift us up. In Jesus name. AMEN.
