Vacation Bible School (VBS) July 16th – July 20th

The most fun week of the year is July 16-20! Macedonia will be transformed into a super heroes’ dream as our 3 year olds – 5^th graders are “Called Together To Serve God.” You don’t want to miss this incredible week as we meet each evening at 6:15 pm-8:20 pm. Deadline to register is June 16.

This year’s joint VBS with Avent Ferry, Macedonia & Westover United Methodist Churches will be on site at Macedonia UMC, 2700 Jones Franklin Rd, Cary, NC 27518.

1. Our theme is Hero Hotline:Called Together to Serve God and it starts on Sunday, July 16 and goes through Thursday, July 20 and the time we need you is from 5:45-8:45 pm. The children will start arriving around 6 pm. Some may come earlier.

2. All volunteers need to bring a dark purple t shirt & we will iron on a HERO HOTLINE decal for you or if you want we can give you the decal & you may iron it on yourself. Michaels, Hobby Lobby & JoAnn Fabric usually have t shirts on sale for under $5 & they usually have a large variety of sizes. You will need to wear your shirt each night of VBS so you are easily recognizable by children & parents.

3. We are still taking registrations.

4. During the week of July 9th we will be decorating Macedonia & everyone is welcome to come & help and will be finishing up on Saturday, July 15.

5. Saturday, July 15 at 10 am we will be having a training time with all the volunteers, so everyone can meet & go over the timeline, layout and some other items before we begin on Sunday. There will be pizza served after the meeting & then we would greatly appreciate everyone’s help to finish up any decorating and last minute things.

7. If you want to donate items for decorating here are the items we are asking for:

Plastic tablecloths in jewel tones (54″x108″-dark purple, dark blue, green, orange, pink).

pool noodles

rolls of craft paper (36″x100′-found at Loewe’s, Home Depot, Amazon).

10″ balloons or bigger in jewel tones like the tablecloths.

spray paint in purple, lime green, orange, pink
