Greetings………………………………………Pastor Steven
Call to Worship……………………………..………..Chad V.
In the beginning, God moved over the waters of the deep
And there was the movement of creation
Abram moved from his home into the place God called him And there was movement towards God’s covenant for all people
The Israelites moved away from oppression in Egypt
And there was movement toward justice and God’s mercy
Esther moved from her family into the role as queen
And there was movement of salvation for her people
The prophets moved the people toward faithfulness
And there was movement toward righteousness as an ever flowing stream
Mary moved her heart in line with God
And there was movement toward a world forever changed
Jesus moved the bar for who was worthy of love
And there was movement toward the margins
Jesus moved toward the cross
And there was movement toward the true meaning of love
Resurrection moved us away from the fear of death
And there was movement toward life
God moves us to a transformed life
May our movement transform the world
Amen.

Opening Prayer: …….………………………Melrose D.
Holy Boldness, Move Our Spirits
Holy Boldness, move our spirits. Holy Boldness, free our hearts. Stir our minds and drive us forward. Spur us on to do our parts. Help us make our lives a witness to your all-inclusive care As we co-create your realm where faith is stronger than despair.
Source of courage, move our bodies. Source of courage, guide our hands. Raise our voices; grant us strength to tell the truth that love demands. Help us make our lives a witness to your endless, wondrous grace As we build the world you ache for where each person finds a place.
God of justice, move your people. God of justice, make us one, Joined in work and hope and prayer until your will is fully done. Help us make our lives a witness to your love of lost and least As we set your sacred table, calling all to join the feast.

Opening Hymns:………”We Are Called” #2172 TFWS
Words: David Hass Music: David Haas
©1988 GIA Publications, Inc.
1.Come! Live in the light!
Shine with joy and the love of the Lord!
We are called to be light for the kingdom,
to live in the freedom of the city of God!
We are called to act with justice,
we are called to love tenderly,
we are called to serve one another,
to walk humbly with God!
2.Come! Open your heart!
Show your mercy to all those in fear!
We are called to be hope for the hopeless
so all hatred and blindness will be no more!
We are called to act with justice,
we are called to love tenderly,
we are called to serve one another,
to walk humbly with God!
3.Sing! Sing a new song!
Sing of that great day when all will be one!
God will reign, and we’ll walk with each other as
sisters and brothers united in love!
We are called to act with justice,
We are called to love tenderly,
We are called to serve one another,
to walk humbly with God!

Refrain
Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory,
blaze, Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire; flow, river,
flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy, send
forth your word, Lord, and let there be light.
1.Lord, the light of your love is shining in the midst of
the darkness shining; Jesus, Light of the World, shine
upon us, set us free by the truth you now bring us.
Shine on me, shine on me.
Refrain
Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory,
blaze, Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire; flow, river,
flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy, send
forth your word, Lord, and let there be light.
2.Lord, I come to you awesome presence from the shadows
into your radiance; by the blood I may enter your brightness; search me, try me, consume all my darkness.
3.As we gaze on your kingly brightness, so our faces
display your likeness; ever changing from glory to
glory, mirrored here may our lives tell your story.
Shine on me, shine on me.
Refrain
Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory,
blaze, Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire; flow, river,
flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy, send

Words: Dean McIntyre Music: English folk melody: harm.
by Dean McTyre Words and harm. © 2005 The General Board
of Discipleship of the UMC
1.How shall I come before the Lord and bow myself
with heart outpoured? And shall I come with offering?
What shall I give? What shall I bring?
2.Will finest gifts bring God’s delight? Will wealth bring
favor in God’s sight? What must we be? What must
we do? What does the Lord require of you?
3.Let justice shine in all your ways. Let loving kindness
rule your days, that, as this earthly path you trod,
you shall walk humbly with your God.
New Testament Lesson:……Matthew 12:46-50……Melrose D.
While [Jesus] was still speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers were standing outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone told him, “Look, your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.” But to the one who had told him this, Jesus replied, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” And pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
