Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, open the eyes
of my heart: I want to see you, I want to see
you.  Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, open
The eyes of my heart; I want to see you,
I want to see you.  To see you high and
lifted up, shining in the light of your glory.
Pour out your power and love as we sing.
Holy, holy, holy.

To see you high and lifted up, shining in
The light of your glory.  Pour out your power
and love as we sing. Holy, holy, holy.

Psalm 34:1-8, (19-22)

Liturgist: I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

All: My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad.

Liturgist: O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

All: I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Liturgist: Look to him, and be radiant; so your faces shall never be ashamed.

All: This poor soul cried, and was heard by the LORD, and was saved from every trouble.

Liturgist: The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

All: O taste and see that the LORD is good; happy are those who take refuge in him.

All: He keeps all their bones; not one of them will be broken.

The Gospel Lesson:……Mark 10:46-52…………Lorri B.
10:46 They came to Jericho. As he and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the roadside. 10:47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

10:48 Many sternly ordered him to be quiet, but he cried out even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 10:49 Jesus stood still and said, “Call him here.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart; get up, he is calling you.”

10:50 So throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus.
10:51 Then Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “My teacher, let me see again.”
10:52 Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.

Closing Hymn:   “Victory in Jesus”  #370 UMH

1.I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came
from glory, how he gave his life on Calvary
to save a wretch like me; I heard about his
groaning, of his precious blood’s atoning,
then I repented of my sins and won the victory.

O victory in Jesus, my Savior forever! He sought
me and bought me with his redeeming blood;
he loved me ere I knew him, and all my love
is due him; he plunged me to victory
beneath the cleansing flood.

2.I heard about his healing, of his cleansing power
revealing, how he made the lame to walk again
and caused the blind to see; and then I cried, “Dear
Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit,” and somehow
Jesus came and brought to me the victory.

O victory in Jesus, my Savior forever! He sought
me and bought me with his redeeming blood;
he loved me ere I knew him, and all my love
is due him; he plunged me to victory
beneath the cleansing flood.

3.I heard about a mansion he has built for me
in glory, and I heard about the streets of gold
beyond the crystal sea; about the angels
singing and the old redemption story, and some
sweet day I’ll sing up there the song of victory.

O victory in Jesus, my Savior forever! He sought
me and bought me with his redeeming blood;
he loved me ere I knew him, and all my love
is due him; he plunged me to victory
beneath the cleansing flood.
